"Beyond the time, bound by fear"

The city stretched into the heavens, towering over clouds in a maze of glass and steel. Sky-high structures shimmered, their metallic surfaces catching the light from a thousand airborne vehicles that glided effortlessly through the air, crisscrossing invisible highways.

On the ground level, the streets were a glowing tapestry of neon signs, holographic ads flickering, calling out to anyone who passed by. The ground was no longer solid but a smooth, translucent platform suspended above unseen depths, reflecting the endless flow of energy beneath. Despite the futuristic splendor, something primal still lingered in the air—something that not even progress could erase.

A girl named Leyla walked alone through the illuminated streets, her fitted, luminescent outfit seamlessly blending with the modern world. The suit, sleek and adaptive to her body’s needs, glowed faintly, responding to her mood. Tonight, the soft blue light it emitted pulsed nervously. She tugged at the high collar of her tech-suit, feeling exposed despite the garment’s promise of protection. The fabric, made of a smart material that could shield her from the harshest environments, wasn’t enough to calm the growing anxiety that stirred inside her.

Her boots tapped lightly against the transparent surface beneath her, echoing in the distance. The city was alive, buzzing with the hum of floating drones, yet it felt eerily quiet where she walked. As she crossed an empty intersection, the sensation hit her—a cold, unnerving feeling that someone was watching her.Her pulse quickened, and her heart began to race. Without looking back, Leyla increased her pace, her glowing boots creating a blur of light. Her breath caught in her throat as her instincts screamed to run. The quiet buzz of the city faded into the background, and all she could hear was the sound of her own footsteps and the faint, ominous echo behind her.

She glanced over her shoulder but saw nothing out of place—just the endless sea of shimmering buildings and floating cars. Still, the feeling persisted, gnawing at her mind. She was being followed.
Leyla’s heart pounded in her chest as her walk turned into a sprint. Her suit adjusted, its light now flashing in rapid pulses as if mirroring her fear. She weaved through the floating benches and holo-ads, her sleek braid flying behind her. The city around her blurred, the vibrant lights blending into a haze as panic clouded her vision.

Footsteps. Definitely there, growing louder. Closer

She turned a sharp corner, her boot catching on a seam in the translucent platform, and she tumbled forward, crashing to the ground. Her palms stung as they hit the surface, and the world seemed to spin. For a brief moment, everything was silent, except for her ragged breathing.

Leyla struggled to get up, her limbs shaking, but then she froze. A shadow fell over her.
She looked up, her breath catching in her throat.

Standing directly in front of her was a girl—her age, her height, her face. It was like staring into a mirror, but with a twist.
Her smile, too, was unsettling—knowing, almost as if she had been waiting for this moment.

“Hello, Leyla,” the girl said, her voice smooth and unsettling. “I’ve been waiting.”
Leyla scrambled backward, her mind racing, trying to comprehend what she was seeing.
She had heard rumors of technology that could manipulate time, even space, but this? This was something far beyond her imagination.
“Who… who are you?” she stammered, eyes wide with disbelief.

The girl took a step closer, her smile widening. “Oh, Leyla. I’m you. Or rather, I’m what you could be. What you might become.”
“I’m you. Well, not exactly. You could say I’m... your reflection. Your past or A version of you from the future you haven’t seen yet.”

She paused, eyes twinkling with a strange light. “And I have something to tell you.”

Leyla’s heart pounded in her chest as she tried to understand. Before she could ask anything more, the girl began to speak, reciting poetry,
her voice is soft but filled with a haunting truth.

Hey, girl from 3050 and beyond—
A time where stars bend to your will
And horizons are no longer boundaries.
Where your dreams have no limits.
No sky too high.
No road too far.
Please travel to Mars,
Or to the depths of the seas.
But I wonder—have you truly broken free?
Dreams of cities that float in the air,
In a world where equality is more than fair.
But remember, amidst all the progress and pride,
Monsters still lurk around every corner; they hide.
You have conquered time and space,
But what about the heart?
Have you built walls as high as your towers
To guard against the dangers you can't escape?
You have conquered the future,
But have you conquered the fear?
Or does the darkness still find its way in,
A shadow that clings too close?
Even with all your advancements,
'Be careful.'
'Don't go alone.'
'Text me when you are home.'
The words passed down like a secret,
A language we know too well.
And you—do you still hear them?
Even in a future where everything
Is supposed to be better?
Do you still whisper warnings
To each other?
Or do you feel safe enough to forget?
But I don’t think you can,
I don’t think anyone can.
Because this fear—
It’s woven into us—
Generation after generation.
We inherit it like a story,
One we never want to hear.
And that’s what connects us.
Even across time, across centuries,
We are bound by the same fears we fear.
Hey, girls from 3050 and beyond,
Don't walk alone at night."

Leyla stood in awe, feeling the weight of her words. The girl extended her hand, inviting her to rise. “Together, we can navigate this world. The future is brighter than you imagine, but we must be aware of the shadows that still linger.”

With a deep breath, Leyla took the girl’s hand, feeling an unexplainable connection. As they stood together, the skyline of the city shimmered around them.
